What the romans call "BIG NAUSE"

Probably before reaching Rome you have had the chance to read about our history but probably you still don't know that "water" for romans was really very important and the curiousity of this month is that not everybody knows that Rome has more than 2.500 little fountains that we still call "Nasoni" (big nause) and that you can find all over even in the outskirts.

In summer time they are really useful to satisfy your thirsty. The funny name is due to the their shape as the picture below shows of them are very old and famous as the one in Piazza della Rotonda (Pantheon) or the one in Trastevere called "Fontana della Botte", or "Fontana Monti" which is part of Palazzo St. Michele, or "Fontanella delle Tiare" in Piazza S. Pietro.
